The Lagos State Police Command said on Thursday, their officers stopped nine bad guys who were trying to kidnap people. Two bad guys got away, but they were hurt.

The police got good information about a group of kidnappers who wanted to take rich people in Lagos.

On Friday, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer, shared this news in a statement.

About two weeks ago, the police received important info about the kidnappers. They followed the clues and found out the gang would attack on Thursday in the Ladipo area of Lagos.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin said, “The police have been watching this gang for the last eight months. These kidnappers took a lot of rich people in places like Isolo, Okota, Ejigbo, and Ladipo in Lagos. We are happy to say that we’ve stopped them.”

The kidnappers did not give up easily and fought back, but the police were stronger.

SP Hundeyin said the police stopped nine kidnappers, but two got away with gunshots.

The police got some weapons from the kidnappers: four AK-47 rifles, four homemade semi-automatic pistols, nine AK-47 magazines, three walkie-talkies, one POS machine, and a loudspeaker. They also took two cars from the kidnappers: a black Toyota 4Runner and a blue Lexus RX350. The police are still looking for the two kidnappers who got away.

SP Hundeyin asked everyone, especially doctors, to watch out for anyone with gunshot wounds and to tell the police right away.

He also asked the people in Lagos to tell the police if they see anything suspicious in their area.
