Paul Pogba, who plays in the midfield for Juventus, shared his feelings online after hearing good news. The Court of Arbitration, called CAS, decided to shorten his time away from playing football because of a doping issue. Instead of staying away for four years, now he only has to be away for 18 months!
On Friday, CAS said that Paul’s suspension would be 18 months starting from September 11, 2023. Before this, in February, the Italian Anti-Doping Tribunal said he couldn’t play for four entire years.
This means Paul can start playing football again on March 11, 2025, which is really important because it’s just four days before he turns 32 years old!
Paul felt really happy and wrote online, “Finally, the nightmare is over. I am super excited about the day when I can chase my dreams again.”
He also shared, “I always said I didn’t break the rules on purpose. I play fair, and I am thankful to the Court of Arbitration for listening to what I had to say.”
“This has been a very tough and worrying time for me because everything I love doing had to stop.”
“Thank you to everyone for your love and support. I can’t wait to run back onto the football field!”
