Peter Obi: Nurses Should Be Free to Pursue Opportunities Abroad

Peter Obi Supports Nurses and Professionals Seeking Opportunities Abroad

Peter Obi, a former leader from Anambra and a recent presidential hopeful, believes nurses and other skilled workers should follow their dreams, even if it means going overseas. He spoke about this at St Charles Borromeo College of Nursing and Midwifery in Onitsha.

During his visit, Obi gave money to the school. He said learning and health are like powerful tools that will be super important in the future.

He talked about Nigeria having over 200 million people! He thinks it’s okay if those people want to travel abroad for better jobs and lives.

Instead of stopping people from leaving, Obi thinks leaders should focus on teaching more people. When workers abroad send money home, it can help the country too!

He said, “We are not just giving gifts. We’re putting money into your future. Learning and health are like gold for tomorrow.”

“Investing in you makes you great. People everywhere need skilled nurses and professionals like you!”

“I told the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria that we shouldn’t hold anyone back from finding better jobs abroad.”

“With so many people in Nigeria, why not teach them? Let those who want to go, leave. Those who want to stay, can stay. Money sent home from abroad is also helpful for us.”

“When you see me helping around, it’s because I care about your future. I don’t need my children to study there, and I could spend money on fancy titles, but that’s not how we grow the future.”

“I will visit the College of Nursing in Anyingba tomorrow. They need help getting a special approval, and I’ll be there to support them,” said Obi.
