Jose Peseiro is up for a big award called the International Federation of Football History and Statistics Men’s World Best National Coach award. This award is for coaches who do a great job with their national soccer teams.
Peseiro, who is from Portugal, coached the Super Eagles, Nigeria’s soccer team, to do very well in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. This tournament happened in a place called Cote d’Ivoire.
The Super Eagles played really well but lost 2-1 in the final game to a team called the Elephants. Even though they lost, getting second place was a big achievement.
