A group called PDP Frontiers for Change and Progress says that Mr. Nyesom Wike, who is the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is behind the negative news against Senator Adolphus Wabara. Wabara is the Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT).
The group talked to news reporters in Umuahia, Abia State. They also said that Mr. Wike is causing political problems in Rivers State.
Emeka “Yellow” Ikpegbu, who leads the group, said that Wike was unhappy about the recent visit of PDP BoT members to Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Ikpegbu said that no bad media campaign against Wabara and other BoT members will work.
The group agreed with Chief Edwin Clark, a leader from Niger Delta, who said that Wike should be kicked out of the PDP.
Ikpegbu said that Wike was shocked when BoT members visited the Governor and supported him. Ikpegbu said this visit was to help make the PDP stronger in Rivers State and other places.
“The visit has the full support of PDP members from different areas. Wike thinks he can still control the state after eight years in power,” said Ikpegbu.
He asked other important people in PDP, especially the Governors, to support the BoT members in making the party better for a big win in 2027.
The group said that the FCT Minister did not succeed in making Governor Siminalayi Fubara follow his orders.
Ikpegbu asked PDP leaders to stand up against ‘godfatherism’ and to support fair internal democracy. He said that ‘godfatherism’ has been a big problem for the party.
