Pastor Accused of Allegedly Enticing Married Woman Faces Repercussions

Must Read

A pastor named Ekejiuba George went to court on Tuesday in Gwagwalada, FCT, because he was accused of trying to attract a married woman.

Ekejiuba said he was not guilty of this charge. The judge, Olatunji Oladunmoye, said he could leave jail if he paid a bail of N100,000 and found someone trustworthy to guarantee he would come back to court. This person also had to live close to the court. The judge said they would talk about the case again on July 22.

The lawyer for the husband, named Eze Osinachi, told the court that his client, Mr. Chika Nwafor, is also a pastor and lives where the court is.

The husband told the court that since he got married, the other pastor, Ekejiuba, kept trying to attract his wife, Mrs. Blessing Nwafor, even though he asked him to stop many times.

Osinachi also said that Ekejiuba often called Mr. Nwafor’s wife late at night. She would sometimes go outside and talk to him.

He added, “They send pictures to each other on WhatsApp and have been seen together at strange times.”

“Pastor Ekejiuba is trying to make Mr. Nwafor and his wife break up. He tells Mrs. Nwafor bad things about her husband to make her angry with him.”

“Even though the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) have tried to help, Ekejiuba won’t stop bothering Mrs. Nwafor and their marriage,” he said.

Osinachi said Mr. Nwafor wants the court to make Ekejiuba stop calling and meeting with his wife. He said this behavior breaks Section 389 of the Penal Code.
