Paris 2024: Waldrum Reflects on Super Falcons’ Friendly Loss to Canada

Must Read

Super Falcons’ head coach, Randy Waldrum, shared his thoughts after losing a friendly match to Canada.

The Super Falcons, who used to be African champions, lost 1-0 to the Olympic champions, Canada, in a game in Malaga on Wednesday night.

Canada’s player, Jordyn Huitema, scored the only goal in the eighth minute. This happened because Deborah Abiodun made a mistake.

This friendly match was the only practice game for the Super Falcons before the 2024 Olympic Games.

Coach Waldrum believes his team will get better by the time they play in Paris.

“Of course, we wanted to win, but I think we played well. Our attack was strong, and we kept the ball well,” said Waldrum, quoted by Afrik Foot.

“I think we played better than we did when we faced Canada in the World Cup. We had more chances to score this time. I can see that we have improved a lot since the World Cup.”
