Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala, felt good about how the team played in their 1-0 loss to Spain but thinks they need to get better at scoring goals.
Alexia Putellas scored a fantastic late free kick, which was the only goal in a close game between the two teams in Group C at the Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes on Sunday night.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade and Chiwendu Ihezuo had big chances to score for the Super Falcons, but they missed.
The team had the same problem in their first game against Brazil, which they also lost 1-0.
Oshoala, feeling sad, said it’s very important for the Super Falcons to start scoring goals.
“I am proud of how we played. I think we did well,” she said.
“We played against the world champions and had our chances to score. We had opportunities to score against Spain,” the Bay FC striker said after the game.
“The same thing happened in the first game. We didn’t score well. I think if we start scoring goals, we can compete with any team in the world,” she added.
