The Oyo state government inaugurated the committee established for the coronation ceremony of its imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, the Alaaafin de Oyo.
The information and guidance commissioner, Prince Dotun Oyelade, revealed in a statement available for journalists in Ibadan on Monday.
The inaugural meeting was chaired by the commissioner for the local government and the issues of Headquarters, Hon. Eye Adela.
Among the members of the Committee, there are four members of the Oyo State Cabinet, including the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Prof. Musibau Babatunde, Commissioner of Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, Hon. Oyelade.
Other members are three members of the House of the Assembly of the Circumscription of Oyo, including the Hon. GBENGA Oyakola of the state constituency of Atiba, Hon. RAHMAN OLORUNPO DE OYO EAST/OYO WEST BANDENCY AND HON.

Seven family members of the new Alaafin de Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, religious leaders and other interested parties were also in the committee.
According to the local government commissioner and the issues of the Headquarters, the arrangements have seriously begun to guarantee a successful coronation in the strict fulfillment of the tradition of the people of Oyo.
The information commissioner recalled that in the last five years, the Seyi Makinde administration has crowned 10 kings and 40 baales.
Oyelade said that Governor Seyi Makinde hopes that everyone involved in the coronation will be diligent and show the maximum support for the success of the event.
