Two men, Ogunjobi Ayanyemi (39) and Muritala Olajire (42), were caught by the Osun State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, for causing trouble in Araromi Owu, Irewole area of Osun State.

The police found them on Wednesday hiding in different spots in Araromi Owu after getting a tip from someone in town.

Corps Commander CSP Adekunle Omoyele (retired) told everyone about this through a statement from spokesperson Yusus Idowu in Osogbo on Saturday.

A few days before, the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, told security workers to go to Araromi Owu because there was fighting there.

During the fight, one security officer, Shittu Wasiu Kehinde, who worked for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and one other unknown person were killed.

Also, many houses and businesses were burned down before things calmed down in the community.

Omoyele said, “The troublemakers were caught in different places in town after we got a tip. They were part of a chieftaincy fight that led to the killing of two people, burning many houses, and destroying shops.

“Amotekun workers acted quickly and caught them hiding. They admitted to doing the bad things and even told us about other people in their gang.”

Omoyele asked the people living there to help security officers by giving them information to prevent more trouble.

He also said that the caught men have been given to the Police for further questioning and to face the law.
