Osun Truck Driver Held in Custody on Manslaughter Charges

Must Read

A court in Osogbo has made a decision about a truck driver named Adebayo Olayinka. He will stay in a place called Ilesa Correctional Centre for now. This is because people say he drove his truck in a very dangerous way, which sadly caused a person named Adebayo Tajudeen to die.

The judge, Dr. Olusegun Ayilara, decided on this action last Thursday. The judge said this is a big problem because of what the driver is accused of doing.

The lawyer for the truck driver, Mr. Oladipupo Olatunbosun, asked if the driver could go home and come back later for his court day, but the judge said no. They will talk more about this case on December 23.

Before, the truck driver said he did not do the bad things people say he did when asked about the two problems, which are manslaughter and driving dangerously.

The police officer, ASP Akintunde Jacob, informed everyone that the truck driver is accused of doing this on October 19, around 7:30 at night, in a place called the Old Garage area in Osogbo.

The police officer explained that the truck driver was driving a big truck, called a Howo Sino Truck, with the number SGB 961 XY. He drove it in a way that was not safe, causing the unfortunate event where Tajudeen lost his life.

The officer also mentioned that, according to the law, doing such dangerous driving is against the rules in sections 18 and 27 of the Road Traffic Laws, written in the book of laws in Osun from the year 2002.
