In the state of Osun, there is a group called the Amotekun Corps. They have caught a 31-year-old woman named Taiwo Badru. She is a mom with a baby, and they say she tricked people and took their money.

Taiwo lived in a place called Ororuwo in Boripe. People said she pretended to be a bank manager to fool others.

On a Wednesday, in the city of Osogbo, there was an event where the head of Amotekun, named Isaac Omoyele, talked to reporters. He is a retired police officer. Isaac said they caught Taiwo on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

Isaac explained, “On Saturday, October 19, 2024, at around 12:45 in the afternoon, someone told us about Taiwo Badru. She lived in Ororuwo and was tricking people. Taiwo used a man’s voice on the phone to pretend she worked at a bank. She told people she could give them loans.”

Isaac said Taiwo tricked people in Lagos before she moved to Osun. She was caught when she tried to take N4.5 million from someone named Fatai Saidi in Ororuwo.

Taiwo tried to ask Fatai for more money, but that’s when the Amotekun team caught her.

Isaac said Taiwo admitted what she did was wrong. She used the money for her family. There were other people who did bad things too, like stealing and lying for money.

Some of their names are Musbau Saheed Ganiyu, Afeez Ayuba, Awal Adebayo, Ilerioluwa Nurudeen, Olalekan Mashood, Kayode Odesanmi, and Rasheed Abdullahi.

The leader of Amotekun, Isaac, said they would hand the people they caught to the proper security group after they check all the details.
