Ooni, fourth wife Olori Ashley, welcomes her son

The Ooni of Ife Adeyeye Ogunwusi and his fourth wife, Olori Ashley, welcomed their first child, a son. Folashade married the Ooni on October 15, 2022.

This happy news comes almost six months after the monarch welcomed twins with Olori Tobi, his third and youngest wife.

Olori Ashley revealed that her son was born on Tuesday at the Princess Royal Hospital in London, UK.

On Tuesday, the Ooni shared the announcement on his official Instagram page, posting a photo of himself and the new mother with the caption: “Ooniadimulaife To God be the glory, great things you have done. Heartfelt congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Folashade who today gave birth to a Prince from the maternal side of Ooni Adagba Royal Compound of Lafogido Ruling House and from the paternal side of Ooni Agbedegbede Royal Compound of Giesi Ruling House combined for the royal throne of Oduduwa.

He also assured his followers of the well-being of both mother and child, adding: “The mother and child are doing well to the glory of God Almighty and in keeping with the spirits of our ancestors.”

Olori Ashley also took to Instagram to share the news of the arrival of her son, whom she called the Crown Prince on both sides of the parents.

She said: “To God be the glory, great things he has done for my husband and I. I am happy to re-announce with my husband Ooniadimulaife the birth of our lovely and prestigious royal son on the throne of our ancestors, our CROWN PRINCE from the fountain of Oodua. Who we were blessed with and was born into this world today on the 3rd of September 2024 at the Princess Royal Hospital in London, United Kingdom. Despite haters trying to get in our relationship for about a decade, Olodumare has remained faithful in our lives.”

Loss

Olori Ashley also announced that she lost a pair of twins in 2023.

The prince’s mother said: “Last year was a bit dark as our twins got their wings at 14 weeks but Olodumare remained faithful. He said we need a son to carry on the bloodline of our ancestors, a double Crown Prince. Now he has blessed us with our beautiful son who is not only a prince by birth but our Crown Prince on both sides of his parents.

“The prince of the ruling house Giesi and the prince of the ruling house Lafogido are 2 of the four ruling houses in the kingdom of Ile Ife that attain the throne of our ancestors. Ose Olodumare, history has repeated itself in me and our beloved son and crown prince of the fountain of Oodua. Modupe Olodumare, mo ma roju ire re laye mi.”

Similarly, on his official Instagram account, Olori Tobi revealed photos of his two-month-old twins sleeping soundly and adorable.

Adopting the trendy phrase, her caption read: “Very demure, very drunk on milk, happy weekend, family.”
