Ondo Governorship: INEC Starts Distribution of 55,859 PVCs

Must Read

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has handed out 55,859 permanent voter cards (PVCs) for people voting in next month’s governor election in Ondo State.

Sam Olumekun, who works as the National Commissioner and is also the Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, shared this news in a message on Tuesday.

This message explained that people should not go to their local government offices to get their PVCs.

For five days, INEC set up places in all 203 wards across Ondo State so people could come and get their PVCs. These cards are from the latest Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in the state.

INEC asked all remaining voters to come to their local government offices and collect their cards. They emphasized that each person has to pick up their own card, as no one else can do it for them.

By the end of the five days, INEC was happy to report that 55,859 people personally picked up their PVCs. These cards were for new voters and people who needed a new card because theirs was lost or damaged. This number is 62.2% of the 89,777 cards that were ready for picking up.

This is a record number of PVCs collected in just five days in Ondo State since INEC started the CVR process in 2015. You can find a detailed list showing how many cards were collected in each local government area on INEC’s website and social media.

Starting from tomorrow and running until Tuesday, October 29, 2024, people can go to one of the 18 local government offices in Ondo State to collect their PVCs. They’re open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm every day, even on the weekend. If you want to find the local government offices in Ondo State, INEC has shared all this information on their website.
