Ondo Governorship: APC Members Defect to SDP

Must Read

Some members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State have decided to join the Social Democratic Party, SDP, before the governorship election on November 16.

These people left APC and attended a big meeting called a “rally” at the SDP office in Akure. They gave back their APC membership cards and got new SDP membership cards.

The people who left APC said they were not treated well there.

Femi Ikoyi, who leads these people, said they were a strong group in APC known as the People’s Democratic Movement, PDM.

He also said that even more people from APC and PDP want to join SDP to help their candidate, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, win the election.

Femi said, “I’m bringing my PDM people in APC to ESP. We know the SDP candidate is well-liked in Abuja.

“We want to win this election. APC is not good to us at the local level. That’s why we are moving to SDP. I am here to support Akingboye,” he added.

When they arrived, the SDP Chairman in Ondo, Gbenga Akinbunmi, said they would be treated just like everyone else in the party.

On top of that, the SDP candidate for governor in the state praised the new members for joining and promised to work together with everyone if he wins.
