Ondo: APC fields candidates for LG elections in Okitipupa

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Okitipupa Local Government Area (LGA) of Ondo has officially fielded its candidates for the council elections in the area.

LGA elections are scheduled for January 18 in all 18 LGAs in the state.

Bode Ikulala, Chairman of APC in Okitipupa LGA, on Wednesday in Okitipupa officially presented Soga Ogunsakin and James Orimisan Ogunyemi as APC Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates for the elections.

Ikulala also presented to stakeholders and party members the 13 councilor candidates who would compete for seats in the upcoming LGA elections.

The President said he is confident in the ability of the APC candidates to deliver victory for the party in the upcoming elections.

According to him, the party's candidates have impressive credentials and a track record of community service, ensuring that they would bring value to the people of Okitipupa if elected.

Ikulala also commended the party leadership for their efforts in ensuring a peaceful and transparent primary election process.

He said the presentation of their candidates officially marked the APC's campaign for the Okitipupa LGA elections.

“The party is expected to engage in a series of campaign activities, including rallies, public meetings and door-to-door visits, to mobilize support for its candidates,” Ikulala said.

Meanwhile, Ogunsakin, who spoke on behalf of other candidates, thanked the party leadership and stakeholders for the opportunity to serve.

He promised to lead a transparent and inclusive administration if elected, promising to prioritize the welfare and development of the people of Okitipupa LGA.

“We expressed our gratitude to the party leadership and promised to work tirelessly to ensure the party’s victory in the elections,” Ogunsakin said.

The event was attended by Mr. Segun Aiyerin, Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Mr. Femi Agagu, former Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, and Mr. Igbekeke Akinrinwa, Acting Chairman of the Okitipupa LGA Transition Committee.
