In Ondo State, a group called the Amotekun Corps helps keep people safe. They caught a young man, just 20 years old, named Friday Akinmade. People say he hurt an older woman, who was 65 years old, in a town called Owo. He thought she took some money, so he hit her with a piece of wood on her head.
After they caught Friday, they brought him and some other people who did bad things to a big meeting in a place called Akure. This is where Amotekun’s leader, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, talked to everyone. He said there’s a lot of people breaking into houses because money is tight and things are expensive.
He shared other stories too. Like a 30-year-old man who was acting really badly. This man was causing trouble, hurting people, and not following rules. There is also a 42-year-old man named Gbenro who got into a fight with the Amotekun officers because he wanted to hide what he was doing wrong.
There’s more: A 21-year-old man, Samuel Peter, also did something very bad and tried to hurt someone. Then there’s another young man, a 20-year-old, the same age as Friday, named Segun Owolabi. He likes taking motorcycles that aren’t his. He sneaks into houses when people are not home, with friends named Toba, Pelumi, Ogumade, and Oriade. These friends are between 22 and 25 years old. There’s one more person named Shegwo Yusuf who damages things in people’s homes.
These stories show us that doing bad things can get people in trouble. The Amotekun Corps is trying hard to help keep everyone safe and make sure bad things don’t happen. They want people to be nice to each other and not take or hurt things that aren’t theirs.
