Omah Lay Accuses Fellow Artist of Stealing Album Concept

Must Read

Nigerian singer Omah Lay recently talked about a frustrating experience. He said that a fellow artist, who he didn’t name, stole his idea for a new album.

Omah Lay explained that he wanted to work together with this artist, so he shared his new album idea with him. Instead of collaborating, the other artist released an album using Omah Lay’s idea.

On the Zach Sang Show, Omah Lay shared his feelings about it. He said this situation made him re-record his own album from the start.

“My song ‘Holy Ghost’ has a new and unique sound. I was planning to make my whole album with this new sound, but I changed my mind halfway,” he said.

“I shared my album idea with another artist. This artist released an album with the same idea I had shared, so I had to go back and remake my own album.

“This artist approached me, and I agreed to work with him because I admire him. I told him what I was planning with my music. But five months later, he released an album with the exact sound I had shared.

“I had to start over and redo my album. This new version is going to be the best album in Afrobeats history,” Omah Lay confidently concluded.
