Ogun University Student Discloses Reason for Murdering Teenage Church Member

A 23-year-old student named Ayomide Adeleye, who studies at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) in Ogun State, did something very bad. He confessed to ending the life of 18-year-old Christiana Idowu, who went to his church.

Adeleye is now with the police in Lagos State. He said he did this because he had no money and didn’t know what else to do.

According to Vanguard News, Adeleye told the police that he asked Idowu, who was learning a job at Yaba College of Technology, to come to his house. He lied to her, saying he would fix her phone.

This sad event happened when Idowu went to Adeleye’s home around 5 pm on the day she was killed.

After ending her life, Adeleye buried her in a shallow grave behind his house in the early morning.

Adeleye then tried to trick Idowu’s mother by saying her daughter was kidnapped. He asked for N360,000 from her.

He first wanted N3 million but later took N350,000, which he got through his SportyBet account.

The police caught him by following the money trail, as his SportyBet account was linked to his National Identification Number (NIN).

Adeleye said he is very sorry for what he did, especially because his mother and Idowu’s mother were close friends.

He even thought about ending his own life while in police custody but couldn’t go through with it.

He said, “I did this awful thing because I had money problems. She came to my house asking for her phone to be fixed. I squeezed her throat until she couldn’t breathe anymore. When I called her mom, the first thing I said was, ‘Hello, madam, we have your daughter’. I know I don’t deserve any kindness for what I did. I regret it deeply and ask God to forgive me.”
