The police in Ogun State have caught a man named Ogidan Mustapha. They say he tried to cut off the hands of a dead 13-year-old girl in Sagamu.

Mustapha was caught around 1:30 in the morning when he was trying to get rid of the girl’s body near a river in a village called Igode.

The girl’s name is Oriyomi Adegboyega. Her body was found wrapped in a mat.

Omolola Odutola, who speaks for the police, told DAILY POST that they found out because another security agency told them.

She also said that three more people were arrested. These three were helping to dig a grave.

The girl’s mother, Peace Adegboyega, said her daughter got electrocuted and died around 10:20 in the morning on Thursday.

Peace was very surprised to hear that her neighbor, Ogidan, was caught with her daughter’s body. She had plans to bury her daughter.

When the police checked Ogidan’s house, they found two English pump-action rifles and some local charms.

Odutola explained more: “Another security agency told the police that on September 20, 2024, around 1:30 in the morning, they saw someone acting suspiciously near a river in Igode. They caught Ogidan Mustapha trying to dump a body.”

She added, “The body was wrapped in a mat. Upon closer look, they saw it was a girl’s body without hands.”

They found out that the girl was Oriyomi Adegboyega, who was 13 years old.

Ogidan said he did not cut off the girl’s hands. He said the girl’s father, Sunday Adegboyega, asked him to help bury the girl far from their home.

“Ogidan said he didn’t cut off the girl’s hands. He admitted that the girl’s father, Sunday Adegboyega, who is 56, asked him to take the whole body and help bury it far from their house,” Odutola said.

Odutola also said that the suspects are now with the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible court action.
