The governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, believes that his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), will win all the chairmanship and councillorship elections in the 20 local governments of the state.
He feels confident because the APC has kept its promises to the people, and for this reason, he expects a big win.
On Friday, he met with both 20 chairmanship and 236 councilor candidates from his party to discuss the elections.
Governor Abiodun told the candidates to work hard and make sure the APC wins by a large margin.
“It’s very important for everyone in our party to work together peacefully,” he said.
The governor said, “You should talk with other people who wanted to be candidates and make peace with them, so everyone can feel appreciated and united.”
“We do not want any fighting or disagreements. We want to make sure the party stays together and everyone works as one team.”
He reminded everyone that choosing these candidates was very careful and planned, and no one became a candidate by chance.
“Nobody is here by luck. We carefully chose the best people for the local governments. We do not want anyone to become a council chairman by accident,” he explained.
Governor Abiodun takes these elections very seriously and has put in a lot of effort to make sure the best people were chosen.
He said, “Winning this election is very important for helping our communities grow, and the candidates must understand the ‘ISEYA’ mantra, which is our plan for making things better.”
The chairman of the Ogun State APC, Chief Yemi Sanusi, also spoke and said the candidates should campaign hard and aim to win, as it will strengthen the party’s position.
