The Open Government Partnership (OGP) has commended the leadership style of the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo, for the approval of the Kogi State OGP State Action Plan (SAP).
In a statement issued Wednesday, by Amb. Idris Ozovehe Muraina, Co-Chairman of the Kogi State OGP Co-Creation Platform of Non-State Actors (NSA), noted that
The State Action Plan (PAE) is a multilateral and multinational initiative that seeks to create collaboration between the government and civil society.
In his words, “The OGP is a broad association that includes members at national and local levels and thousands of civil society organizations working together to create and implement reforms aimed at improving the delivery of public services and governance in general.
“The members of the Kogi State Open Government Partnership (OGP) Co-creation Platform, together with the dedicated civil society community of Kogi State, extend their heartfelt praise to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of the State of Kogi, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his exemplary leadership and commitment to transparency and accountability in governance.

“During the State Executive Council meeting held on November 20, 2024, Governor Ododo approved the Kogi State Open Government Association State Action Plan (SAP) for the period 2024-2026.
“This momentous decision not only reflects their unwavering dedication to the principles of open governance, but also marks an important step forward in fostering civic engagement and empowering citizens.
“The SAP outlines a comprehensive framework to improve transparency, encourage public participation, and promote accountability within government operations.
“By ensuring that these budgeted activities are incorporated into the approved 2025 annual state budget, Governor Ododo demonstrates a forward-thinking approach that prioritizes the needs and aspirations of the people of Kogi State.
“On behalf of the OGP Co-Creation Platform, co-chaired by me, the Ambassador. Idris Ozovehe Muraina (ECEF Executive Director and President of Kogi NGO Network -KONGONET), and Hon. Asiwaju Asiru Idris (FCA), Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, we reaffirm our commitment to the diligent implementation of SAP.
“We are confident that under the leadership of His Excellency and with the cooperation of all relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), we will achieve the objectives outlined in this crucial plan.
He mentioned that this notable achievement is a testimony to the leadership style: inclusive, responsive and dedicated to the well-being of citizens.
He said it is a proud moment for all Kogites and they look forward to the positive impact this initiative will have on the communities.
