Oborevwori mourns the victims of the Agbor oil tanker explosion

Delta Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims of Sunday’s fuel tanker explosion in Agbor, Southern Local Government Area of ​​Ika State.

The tanker truck that reportedly suffered brake failure and fell at the traffic light junction of the busy old Lagos-Asaba highway, exploded in a fireball that burned four people to death.

Three other people suffered injuries of varying degrees in the explosion, while houses and vehicles were not saved.

Commiserating with the Ika South local government and the people of the area over the tragedy, the governor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, described the fire incident as horrific.

He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and fortitude of those bereaved in the unfortunate incident.

However, Governor Oborevwori directed the State Ministry of Health, State Emergency Management Agency and other relevant authorities to expedite action by providing much-needed immediate support to all victims of the incident.

The Governor commended the fire service, the good people of Ika South Local Government and security agencies who came together to put out the inferno and their dedication to helping those affected by the fire.
