Nwifuru praises unity among Ebonyi NASS members

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has praised the cooperation and unity that exists among legislators in the state National Assembly despite differences between political parties.

According to Nwifuru, this is the first time that all members of the State National Assembly are doing fantastically well, especially in human empowerment, infrastructure development and good relations with the people.

Nwifuru stated this on Saturday during the Empowerment and Thanksgiving Service program organized by Senator Kenneth Eze, Senator representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone.

Also speaking during the event held in Ohigbo, Amagu, Ezza South LGA of the state, the governor described the unity among the legislators as the first of its kind and commended them for their exceptional performance.

“At this particular time, God blessed Ebonyi State with good leaders in the National Assembly. For the first time, all members of our National Assembly are doing exceptionally well in the area of human empowerment, infrastructure development and good relations with the people.

“The members of the National Assembly are very modest and most importantly, the cooperation and unity that exists among them, they dispute that they are in different political parties. They don't have time to gossip about themselves.

“They are doing very well and we have nothing against them. And as leader of the Party, I will not be the one who starts creating crises in my house and I will not be willing to finance crises in my house,” said the Governor.

He urged those who warned that they would replace legislators in the next election to wait, as he would not be a fan of preventing any of the legislators from returning in 2027, except the person who uses his hand to stop himself.

“Then you must wait. If God says that any of the members of the National Assembly will not return, it will not be their fault but theirs. Anyone that God doesn't want back, God will package it in such a way that none of us will be blamed, because I don't want to be blamed.

“I will not refuse to run for a second term, so I will not stop any other person from running for a second term,” Nwifuru added.

He urged those who started consultations before 2027 to reconsider, as, according to him, the time is still too far away.

“It is too early to start discussing the year 2027 now. So don't start wasting your money and time making inquiries now,” he advised.

Senator Kenneth Eze, in his speech, said he initiated the empowerment program to complement the efforts of the Governor, who he said had implemented so many empowerment programs for the people of Ebonyi State since he assumed office.

He thanked the Governor for honoring the invitation despite his busy schedule and said he will not take it for granted.

“I thank you immensely for taking the time to honor me, very significant for honoring me, I will not take it for granted. I know how tight your schedule is but you still sacrificed your time to be here, to honor me. Your Excellency, I want to tell you that the host of angels will honor you all the days of your life,” Eze said.

Eze, further assured the Governor that the people of the area would replicate his love for them through their massive vote for him, in the 2027 elections.

Stakeholders who spoke at the event, including the Deputy Senate Chief, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi; Member representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency, Hon Chinedu Ogah; APC State Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha; former member of the House of Representatives, Hon Lazarus Ogbee; and retired Chief Judge of the State High Court, Justice Aloy Nwankwo, commended Senator Eze for providing quality representation to the people of Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone.
