The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Abia State Command, has arrested three suspected aluminum vandals at Modern Ceramics, Umuahia, Abia State.
The suspects, identified as Uchechukwu Godwin, 38, of Umuana Ndume Ibeku, Ikechukwu Obasi, 43, of Akanu in Ohafia LGA, both in Abia State, and Vincent Ogbonna Oka, 25, of Afikpo South in Ebonyi State, were arrested for Crack. Squad in collaboration with state surveillance group following credible intelligence information. During the operation, large quantities of aluminum sheets were seized.
The Public Relations Officer of NSCDC Abia State Command, Doreen Udugwu, disclosed this in a press statement on Tuesday.
The statement also stated that in another operation carried out with the Nigerian Navy, the NSCDC arrested four hooligans in Isuikwuato LGA, Abia State. The suspects were found with two vehicles (a Lexus ES 350 and a Mitsubishi bus) filled with destroyed railway sleepers, gas cylinders, shovels, excavators, cutlasses and wrenches.
According to NSCDC, the suspects, identified as Ike Promise Emeka, 30, of Amechi Akwunanu LGA in Enugu State, Ugenyi Onyedika, 35, of Oguduasa in Isuikwuato LGA, Ifeanyi Okorie, 35, also of Oguduasa in Isuikwuato LGA, and Chidiebere Augustine, 29, from Amiyi Uhu in Isuikwuato LGA, all in Abia State, were arrested by the Crack Squad unit of the NSCDC.
The statement added that the suspects were presented by the Abia State Commander of the NSCDC, Akinsola Aderemi, at the State Headquarters in Umuahia, where the Commander announced that further investigations are being carried out to identify and arrest all individuals involved in the criminal activities.
