Nine people have been caught by the Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for damaging railway tracks in Bauchi State.
The news was shared by Fatima Adamu, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, on Saturday. She explained that the arrest happened after a team effort with the Nigerian Army, using reliable information.
Adamu said that the suspects were found in Zango village, located in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area. They were supposedly damaging property that belongs to the Federal Government.
“With good information and working together with the Nigerian Army, nine people who are suspected of damaging railway tracks and other properties in Zango village of Tafawa Balewa LGA, Bauchi State, were caught,” said Adamu.
She mentioned that initial investigations showed that the suspects came all the way from Niger State to commit the crime.
Adamu also said that the Commandant of NSCDC Bauchi, Ilelaboye Oyejide, promised that the Corps will keep working hard to protect important national assets.
“NSCDC will continue to do its main job of protecting important national properties and infrastructure,” said Oyejide.
Oyejide also asked everyone to work together to get rid of bad people and make society safer.
