The National Agency for the Development of Primary Health (NPHCDA) has revealed that it has taken a significant step to strengthen Nigeria's primary health system by involving interested parties of various government levels, civil society organizations and development partners.
This, he said, the collaboration effort aims to boost the country's primary health system, ensuring that Nigerians have access to quality and affordable health services.
The executive director of NPHCDA, Dr. Muyi Aina, while informed the media at the end of the national participation of stakeholders in accelerating the improvement in primary health care in Nigeria with the financial autonomy of the local government, declared that the government and interested parties have joined as a tool to establish a shared understanding of the context of the Primary Health Care System.
While speaking more, the Emergency Department emphasized the importance of governance, finance, human resources and the provision of services to achieve the president's agenda so that primary health care is accessible to all.
“The meeting was based on a historical judicial ruling that granted the financial autonomy of local governments.
“The interested parties recognized the challenges and opportunities presented by this ruling and pledged to work together to protect the profits from primary medical care and accelerate their impact.”
“The meeting resulted in the establishment of a shared understanding between interested parties in the context of the Primary Health Care System.”
“A framework for collaboration was also established, describing the roles and responsibilities of each interested party, including levels of government, non -state actors and development partners.
“In addition, a road map for implementation was created, which includes reviews of policies, responsibilities and amendments. Ultimately, interested parties pledged to work together to protect profits from primary medical care and accelerate their impact. “
“As Nigeria operates a national health system governed by the National Health Law of 2014, interested parties recognized the importance of complying with the law and working together as a team.
“Everyone has a role in the National Health System, emphasizing the need for collaboration and coordination between interested parties.”
Aina also revealed that the meeting also highlighted the importance of community participation and participation in primary health care, adding that primary medical care is about people and that interested parties must work together to ensure that communities are empowered to take possession of their health.
