The Nigeria Premier Football League team, Kwara United, has decided to no longer keep 22 of its players.

Bashir Badawiy, who is the boss of the club, shared this news when the team started their practice for the new season in Ilorin on Monday.

Badawiy also mentioned that they have brought in 23 new players to make the team stronger for the upcoming season.

He advised the players to be well-behaved and to follow the team’s rules.

Badawiy said, “We are getting new players like Abayomi Samuel from Shooting Stars, Jimi Iteji from Plateau United, and goalkeepers Kazeem Badmus and Adamu Abubakar, who have played in U17, U20, and U23 teams. Ifeanyi Ogba from Rangers International is also joining us.”

He added, “We have let go 22 players from last season because we don’t need their services anymore. We wish them the best of luck in their new teams inside and outside the country. Now, we are focused on our goal.”

Badawiy shared, “For the 2024–25 NPFL season, we hope to be among the top three teams. We don’t want to struggle like before. Look at our records from the last two seasons; we were among the top four and even qualified for continental competitions.”
