Nollywood’s “The Betrayed” Earns N24 Million in Just 10 Days at Nigerian Box Office

Nollywood’s new movie, The Betrayed, is doing really well! In just 10 days, it made N24 million.

By Friday, August 9, 2024, The Betrayed had already made N14.7 million. But by Sunday, August 11, 2024, it earned a total of N23.8 million! That made it the top Nollywood movie at the box office.

This movie is the first one directed by Zulumoke Oyibo from Inkblot Productions. The story was written by Chinaza Onuzo and Tosan Ayanfulu, and people love it because it talks about important things like trust and betrayal.

The Betrayed has a fantastic cast. Some of the actors are Uche Montana, Gabriel Afolayan, Adunni Ade, Ibrahim Suleiman, Jemima Osunde, Vine Olugu, and Stephanie Zibili. They did a great job!

The story is about a woman named Amarachi, played by Uche Montana. Her world falls apart when her husband, played by Gabriel Afolayan, is arrested for killing his girlfriend. Amarachi then finds herself in a confusing world full of secrets and lies.

Experts think that by the end of 2024, Nollywood movies could make N10 billion. This is up from N7.34 billion in 2023. It shows Nollywood movies are not just fun, but also good business.
