These two movies came out on the same day, September 27, 2024, and many people in Nigeria went to see them. They were a big success!
“Queen Lateefah” is a special movie because Wumi Toriola, a well-known actress, produced it. It’s her first time doing this, and the movie made N58 million! That’s a lot of money for a film not released during a holiday.
The story is about Lateefah Adeleke, a 30-year-old woman who wants to be rich and famous. She meets a man named Jide Rhodes who finds out she’s not as fancy as she seems. Lateefah comes from a poor background and lives in a simple apartment. She likes to pretend she’s living a glamorous life.
The movie was made by Wumi Toriola’s own company and another one called Captain of the Sea Productions. It has many famous actors like Kunle Remi, Femi Adebayo, Nancy Isime, and Broda Shaggi.
Another movie, “Farmer’s Bride,” made N37.3 million in its first weekend. The company that distributed it, FilmOne Entertainment, was very happy with these numbers.
