The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC Ltd.) says the fuel supply and distribution shortage is due to a problem in the unloading operations of a pair of vessels.
Olufemi Soneye, Director, Corporate Communications, NNPC Ltd., made this known in a statement on Saturday while reacting to the current queues and shortages being witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that queues began forming at petrol stations in Abuja on Friday, with motorists seen queuing at several filling stations while some remained closed.

“NNPC Ltd. wishes to state that the shortage of fuel supply and distribution observed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT is as a result of a problem in the unloading operations of a couple of vessels,” Soneye said.
He said the company was working around the clock with all stakeholders to resolve the situation and restore normal operations.
