The home team dominated the match, controlling possession and creating numerous chances.
However, it was Benin who took the lead at the end of the first half thanks to Andreas Hountondji, taking advantage of a defensive error by Rwanda.
However, the hosts fought back and tied in the 70th minute when Innocent Nshuti found the net with a good shot.
Rwanda sealed the victory five minutes later when Djihad Bizimana converted a penalty to secure the three points.

The victory has boosted Rwanda's so far slim chances of qualifying for the African Cup of Nations as the Amavubis now have five points from four matches and are in third position.

The Benin Cheetahs, led by former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, remain second on the table with six points from four matches.
The Nigerian Super Eagles remain in first position in Group D with seven points from three games.
The top two teams in each group advance to the 24-team final in Morocco next year.
