Nigerian Military Takes Down Infamous Bandit Halilu Sububu in Zamfara, Rescues 13 Kidnapped Students in Kaduna

Must Read

The Nigerian Army has taken down a top bandit leader named Halilu Sububu. They also saved 13 kidnapped students in Kaduna.

This big mission was carried out by the soldiers under Operation Hadarin Daji. The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation shared this great news. In another part of Nigeria, Katsina, the army also eliminated another bad guy named Sani Wala Burki.

President Tinubu gave a big shout-out to the army leaders, intelligence team, and soldiers for their hard work and teamwork. He promised that the government would keep supporting the army.

Rescue of kidnapped students

The army’s brave work helped break into a bad guy’s hideout in Kaduna. Here, they saved 13 students who had been kidnapped. This is wonderful news for the families of these students and has weakened the bad guys.

This success happened because President Tinubu told the top military officers to stay in the North-West until everything is calm and safe again.

Because of their actions, the army has hit the terrorist groups in the area hard. People in Zamfara and other places in North-Western Nigeria can now feel safer. Halilu Sububu was causing a lot of trouble, and now he’s been stopped. General Yusuf, who leads Operation Hadarin Daji, praised the teamwork between the army and the intelligence team. “Our hard work together made this possible,” General Yusuf said. “The bravery of our soldiers is key to bringing peace back to the North-West.”

Important things to know

The Nigerian army also found a lot of stolen oil, about 700,000 liters, in the Niger Delta. This was part of a week-long mission to stop oil theft. Major-General Edward Buba, a defense spokesperson, said they caught 36 suspected oil thieves, freed 133 people, and seized 270 weapons with over 5,000 rounds of ammunition.

  • The army also took down many illegal oil refining places and seized goods worth around N637.7 million.
  • China’s President Xi Jinping has promised $50 billion to help Africa over the next three years. This includes military help worth $140 million, the largest ever given at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
  • This new pledge is more than the earlier $30 billion but less than the $60 billion promised in 2015 and 2018. Xi Jinping’s focus areas are building infrastructure, boosting trade, improving security, and green development. This aligns with China’s goal to expand its green technology market.
