Nigerian Military Rescues 7 Abducted Herders in Operation Against Boko Haram Camp

Must Read

The Nigerian Army has done a good job by rescuing seven Fulani herders who were held by suspected Boko Haram terrorists. This happened during a raid on their camp.

The raid took place on Thursday. Soldiers from the 25 Brigade Damboa and local helpers went to Kanama village in Damboa and Imimi village in the Konduga area of Borno State.

When the soldiers got there, the bad guys fought back with guns. But the soldiers were strong and made the bad guys run away, leaving the herders behind.

During this fight, one suspected terrorist was stopped. The soldiers then destroyed the camp and took away guns, bicycles, and other stuff left behind. The Fulani herders were chained up, but the soldiers freed them.

Zagazola Makama, who knows a lot about security in the Lake Chad area, wrote on his X account that the operation happened because they got good information about the terrorists. The raid happened on July 18, 2024.

“Sources said that team ‘A’ of the soldiers found a big Boko Haram camp at Imimi Bulabulin. They fought the terrorists and stopped one of them while the others ran away.

“The soldiers also destroyed the camp and found 11 bicycles, 2 AK 47 magazines, and different things.

“At the same time, team ‘B’ found seven kidnap victims in chains just outside an insurgent’s camp in Kanama Village.

“The victims, who were all Fulani herdsmen, said they were robbed of their cattle and kidnapped at different times and places. The soldiers saved them and brought them out of the forest,” the report said.
