The Nigerian government has said that there are only eight universities in Benin Republic and Togo where Nigerian students can go.
The Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman, shared this information during an interview on Channels Television on Sunday.
He talked about it after saying last week that degree certificates from Cotonou University in the Benin Republic given from 2017 until now will not be valid anymore.
This change comes after a Nigerian journalist got a degree from a university in Benin Republic in just two months and then used it to join the National Youth Service Corps.
Now, Mamman has given a list of the public universities and federal government-approved schools in Togo where Nigerian students can study and get degrees.
These universities are:
1. Universite De Lome
2. Universite De Kara
3. Catholic University of West Africa
In Benin, the only recognized universities for Nigerian students are:
1. Universite D’Abomey-Calavi
2. Universite De Parakou
3. Universite Nationale Des Sciences, Technology Ingénierie Et Mathématiques
4. Université Nationale D’Agriculture
5. Universite Africaine De Devlopment Cooperatif
