Footballer Kayode Olanrewaju Sues Pastor for One Billion Naira

Nigerian footballer Kayode Olanrewaju is taking a UK-based pastor, Tobi Adegboyega, to court. He is asking for one billion naira because he says the pastor had an affair with his wife, Dora Ezinne Kayode. Kayode says this affair caused him a lot of pain and loss of money.

This case is in the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja. Kayode claims that his wife Ezinne has cheated on him many times since they got married in 2013. He says the affair with Pastor Adegboyega is just one of many.

Kodode also says that Ezinne and the pastor have been seen together at parties and behaving like a couple in public. He believes this has hurt his good name and caused a lot of emotional pain.

Besides this, Kayode says Ezinne has taken money from properties he bought. He claims she uses this money for her fancy lifestyle and to maintain her relationship with the pastor. He even said that Ezinne worked with an old lover, Ugochukwu Igboanugo, to take away property documents.

Kayode also mentioned that Ezinne drinks a lot and goes to parties late at night. He thinks this behavior has hurt their marriage even more. He says all these problems forced him to focus on this crisis, and as a result, he lost an important football contract.

He is asking the court for an official divorce and wants to take care of their children. He believes Ezinne is not a good role model for them because of her actions. Kayode was very surprised when his father-in-law refunded the bride price in May 2024, which Ezinne later announced on social media to say she was free from the marriage.

The court will continue to hear this case on September 24, 2024.
