Nigerian Army Seizes Large Arsenal in Plateau State, Arrests 8 Suspects

Must Read

The Nigerian military has found a lot of guns and bullets in a place called Fann District in Barkin Ladi, Plateau State. They discovered these things during a special operation called Safe Haven.

Major SN Zhakom, a military officer, shared this news on X on July 17, 2024.

He said that on July 10, 2024, a team of soldiers was attacked while trying to take back weapons from bad people hiding in Fann District. This happened in a village called Sangasa.

During this fight, a brave officer named Assistant Superintendent of Immigration, CL Agwom, sadly lost his life.

The soldiers didn’t stop there. They quickly decided to go back to Fann District to look for more hidden weapons. Their job is to make sure there are no illegal guns and dangerous things around.

Over a week, they caught eight bad guys and found a whole lot of weapons in villages called Ratas, Ratoso, and Sangasa. Here is what they found:

– 12 AK-47 rifles

– 12 homemade AK-47 rifles

– 15 Dane guns

– 15 AK-47 magazines (where bullets are kept)

– One special drum magazine that holds 75 bullets

– 250 bullets that fit AK-47 rifles

– Two cartridges

– Two bottles of gunpowder

– One sword

– One complete military uniform

– One pair of military boots

– Two spears

– One bow with eight arrows

– Seven motorcycles

Major Zhakom said finding all these weapons shows that bad people have been hiding in Fann District. These bad people have been spreading lies to distract from the hidden weapons.

The military promises to keep looking for and taking away illegal guns and bullets in the area.

“We ask everyone to work with us and share any good information to help keep everyone safe,” Major Zhakom said.

Major Zhakom also said there are some people the military is looking for because they are involved in these bad activities. Their names are:

– Mr. Timothy Zakka Dung, also known as Timaya

– Mr. Sam P Dachun

– Job Yakubu Ishaku

The military is asking anyone who knows where these people are to tell the nearest security office.

“We remember the brave officer, Christopher Luka Agwom, who died while doing this important work on July 10, 2024,” Major Zhakom added.
