Nigerian Air Force and Team Delta Clinch Victory in National Volleyball League in Abia

The Nigerian National Volleyball Championship Division 1 and 2 Phase Two just finished in Umuahia, Abia State. The men’s team called Defence Spikers from the Nigerian Air Force won, and in the women’s category, Team Delta took first place.

At the end of the championship, the President of the Volleyball Federation of Nigeria, Musa Nimrod, was very happy with how well the games went. Teams from 19 different states took part in these games.

Musa Nimrod told leaders in the Southeast that they should spend more money on sports and get young people to play games. He believes this can help reduce crime and keep young people out of trouble.

During the big final event, Nwaobilor Ananaba, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Abia State, along with Obioma George, the Director of Sports, praised the sportsmanship shown by the players. They said that the help from Governor Alex Otti brought more sports events to the state.

Nwaobilor Ananaba admitted that the Abia volleyball team didn’t do very well this time, but he promised that they would perform better in the future.

Master Warrant Officer Yakubu Solomon, the Head Coach of the Nigeria Air Force volleyball team, was overjoyed with their win. He said it was the first time they won a trophy since 2003. He also thanked Governor Alex Otti for hosting the event.
