Nigeria Foreign Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has made history by becoming the Nigerian Foreign Prime Minister to visit Kuwait since the establishment of diplomatic relations 55 years ago.
His historical visit, which extends from February 5 to 8, 2025, aims to strengthen bilateral ties between Nigeria and the Gulf Nation.
A statement from the special assistant on the media and communications strategy to the minister, Alkasim Abdulkadir revealed that during his visit, Ambassador Tuggar will participate in strategic discussions with his Kuwaiti counterpart, Ambassador Abdullah Ali al-Yahya understanding (mous).
“The agreements will establish a joint commission for cooperation to provide a framework for the stronger bilateral ties, strengthen the diplomatic commitments between both foreign ministries through a MOU of bilateral consultations and improve the development of capacities and exchange of diplomatic experience through of a Mou of diplomatic training cooperation. “
“Ambassador Tuggar will also meet with high-ranking Kuwaitis officials, including prime minister, his highness Sheikh Ahmed al-Abdullah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, and Kuwait's amir, his highness Sheikh Mishal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al – Sabah.
“In addition, it will discuss economic, commercial, investment, science, technology and agricultural cooperation agreements with Kuwait oil minister, Tariq Suleiman al-Roumi, and the general director of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), Waleed, Waleed, Waleed, Waleed al-Bahar. “
The visit is expected to strengthen diplomatic, economic and investment ties between Nigeria and Kuwait, opening new ways for cooperation in multiple sectors.
