Niger Governor Bago Expresses Sadness Over Fatal Tanker Explosion at Dikko Junction

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has expressed shock over the fatal tanker explosion that claimed several lives at Dikko junction around the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.

Bago, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, described the explosion as worrying, heartbreaking and unfortunate.

He sympathized with the families of the victims of the explosion and prayed that Allah would rest the souls of the deceased and heal the injured.

However, the Governor warned the people to always be responsible and prioritize their safety.

He directed all relevant ministries, departments and agencies, MDA, to do the needful and urged security officials to ensure security in the area.

A gasoline tanker fell on Dikko junction on Saturday morning, but exploded after some residents of the area went to collect its contents.

It was also learned that dozens of people were burned to death, while several others suffered varying degrees of burns following the explosion.
