The suspended senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, requested the Disciplinary Committee for Legal Practices (LPDC), seeking the disqualification of the President, the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, Senator Nedamwen Bernards Imasuen, about the professional misconduct of alloy.
In her request entitled in the matter of the Law of Legal Practices of 2004, she declared:
“I, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, adult, woman, Christian, Nigerian citizen of No. 3 Dala Hills Maitama, FCT, Abuja, applies that Nedamwen Bernards Imasuen (SCN007069A) of Suite 1.03, building of the National Assembly, three zone, three zone, central Business District, 90010 Territory, Abuja, Abuj, Abuj, Abuje, Abuje, Abuy Territor Nigeria, you must respond to the accusations contained in the affidavit/affidavit that accompanies this request and that said order (s) will be made as the committee will consider appropriate. ”
According to the petition he signed on March 20, 2025, a key issue in his complaint is the alleged deactivation of the senator imasses the New York Bar Association and his actions with respect to a valid court order. She referred to an online report that indicates:
“I read an online report in which it was reported that the petitioner was permanently inhebered from the New York Bar Association for professional misconduct, with the funds of the badly appropriate clients and evaded the disciplinary procedures. 18, 2025, which was in good working conditions during the duration and received a constant supply of information in the ordinary course of the business, is attached here as exhibition Natas 1.
According to his request, the New York Supreme Court, the Appeals Division, the second department, permanently dehydrated on May 10, 2010. She said:
“The defendant, Senator Neda Imasuen, was inhebered by the Supreme Court of New York, the Appeals Division, the second department, on May 10, 2010, for fraud, the undue appropriation of the client's funds and the lack of response to the disciplinary authorities.

She declared her intention to present more evidence at the trial, adding: “I will lead more evidence of the official records of the defendant in the trial of this case.” Akpoti-Uuduaghan said that IMASUEN DISABILITATION was due to a formal complaint filed by his former client, Daphne Slyfield, who accused him of abropiator discomfort of legal positions.
She explained: “This disqualification was imposed after a formal complaint filed by Daphne Slyfield, a client who paid the defendant substantial legal fees for his representation, but was abandoned without legal appeal. The court determined that the defendant had violated multiple professional rules, which resulted in the permanent revocation of his legal license in the United States.”
Despite this, he claimed that Imasuen returned to Nigeria, continued to practice the law and entered politics. She said:
“After the disqualification of the petitioner, he moved to Nigeria, continued to present himself as a legal practitioner and followed a politics career, finally ensuring a seat in the National Assembly as the senator that represents the senatorial district of Edo South.”
She also said that despite her past disciplinary history, Imasuen did not reveal her incomparaction or in her legal or political career, she added:
“Despite this disqualification that was depending on an ethical behavior, the defendant did not reveal this sanction both in the legal and in the political space, as a senator and finally became the president of the Senate Committee on ethics, privileges and public requests, a position that required impeccable integrity.”
According to her, Imasuen also omitted this information in official documents presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), declaring:
“The respondent also did not reveal his disqualification in his form EC-9: Personal information details presented to INEC on Oath.”
His request also defies his management of a court order related to his suspension, accusing him of contempt.
