The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Bauchi State office, has launched a three-day exercise in markets in Bauchi State to weed out fake Milo chocolate drinks in circulation.
Paul Kamai made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Wednesday.
”NAFDAC office has started inspections in markets and supermarkets to eliminate fake Milo in circulation following a directive from the headquarters.
“This exercise will last three days starting on Tuesday,” he said.
The state director also said the agency has scheduled a date within the week to engage leaders of the agrochemical distributors association on the dangers of chemicals in food.
“In Bauchi, we will engage agrochemical distributors against the use of Dictholoruvis and Paraquat for food storage as we approach the harvest period.
“These are dangerous chemicals that have been banned over time,” he added.

Mr Kamai called on bakers and bottled water producers to renew their licences within the stipulated two-year period.

He said failure to renew operating licenses could result in penalties that could affect business operations.
Mr. Kamai called on small and medium enterprises to register their products with NAFDAC to assimilate their products in the Nigerian markets.
