Peter Obi has come out to deny the rumors about his arrest, calling them “completely false”.
In a statement on his official X account (formerly Twitter), Obi assured his followers that he is currently at his home in Onitsha, Anambra.
“The recurring fake news about me. I have been informed of false news circulating about my alleged arrest. Let me state unequivocally that these claims are totally false. I am currently at my home in Onitsha. Anambra State. These fake news about me have become a hobby for some people,” he tweeted.

This comes after a death threat allegation and counter-allegation between him and Felix Morka, a leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Obi recalled a similar rumor that emerged in 2024, claiming that he was arrested by DSS officials while he was actually in Rwanda.
He urged his followers not to allow unfounded rumors to distract them from the critical challenges facing the nation.
Meanwhile, Morka has clarified his controversial comment about Obi, claiming it was a direct response to Obi being labeled a “voodoo economist” and “prophet of doom.”
Morka also asked Obi to provide evidence of alleged threats against his life and family.
