Murders: Group Claims Insecurity Flourished Under APC Government in Zamfara

Must Read

The Concerned Patriotic Citizens Forum, known as CPCF, spoke out against the Zamfara State branch of the All Progressives Congress, or APC. The APC blamed Governor Dauda Lawal of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the state’s insecurity, but CPCF said this is unfair.

CPCF pointed out that the state’s troubles began under the previous APC leadership. They believe it’s wrong to blame the current governor for the problems and say he is not responsible.

On Sunday, CPCF’s President, Comrade Moses Toro, made a statement to DAILY POST. He criticized the Zamfara State APC for saying Governor Lawal ignored the state’s security issues and was instead celebrating at a PDP meeting in Enugu.

Toro emphasized that the real culprits for the security issues are the previous APC leaders, not Governor Lawal.

He explained that the troubles started when the APC was in charge and got worse during their time.

“The APC’s attempt to blame Governor Lawal for the serious security problems in Zamfara State is just ridiculous,” the statement said.

“The records show that these problems began when the APC was running the state.

“The APC government did nothing while things got worse.

“Contrary to what the APC claims, Governor Lawal has worked hard to improve security in just one year, doing more than the APC did in eight years.

“Under the APC, Zamfara went from being one of the safest states to one of the most dangerous places in the North-West.

“In the first three months of 2022 alone, 327 people were killed in Zamfara during the APC’s rule. In the same period, the state government had to shut down two local areas, Anka and Bukkuyum, due to violence.

“So, those who caused this trouble shouldn’t mock the people or blame Governor Lawal. They’ve been rejected by voters for a reason.

“The APC’s statements are seen as mocking the dead and the families of those who lost loved ones due to the violence they caused in the North-West, especially Zamfara.

“The CPCF believes the APC should feel sorry for what happened, not play political games with people’s suffering. The party is advised to stop using the victims of violence for political points.

“But if the APC wants to blame someone, they should blame themselves, as they are the ones who caused the state’s insecurity.”
