Mother Pleads for Police Intervention After 8-Month-Old Baby Is Kidnapped

Must Read

A mom named Ikechi Kelechi from Amuzi Umuofor in Ahiazu Mbaise, Imo State, is really sad and worried because her 8-month-old baby is missing. She is begging people, especially the Nigerian Police and other security teams, to help her find her baby.

Kelechi says some people took her baby. One of them is named Uche, but he’s not caught yet.

When talking to a reporter, an activist named Chikezie Erege said he heard about what happened and wanted to help. Here’s what he said happened:

Kelechi and her baby were walking on the road. Uche and his friends, who were hiding, surprised them. Uche had called Kelechi earlier to bring him some medicine she sells. This happened in Ezinihitte Mbaise, Imo State.

Erege said they have started looking for the baby, but they need help from security teams to catch the people who took the baby.

He also said that Kelechi’s lawyer, U.D. Ibeneto, has written a letter to the head of the police in Imo State, asking them to arrest Uche and another person named Dr. Obinna, known for using traditional medicines. These two people live in Ezinihitte Mbaise.

Erege said it’s really sad that no one has been arrested yet.

The letter to the police also explained more about what happened. It said:

Kelechi works with New Life Company at 46 Tetlo Road in Owerri, Imo State. She sells supplements as a temporary sales girl.

On June 23, 2024, Mr. Uche called her to bring some supplements to him in Ezinihitte Mbaise. After she gave him the supplements and was going back home, Uche, along with Dr. Obinna and others Kelechi didn’t know, attacked her at Afor Ekiri in Ezinihitte Mbaise. They hurt her badly and left her in a bush.

The letter also said they took her baby and left her in a coma. She is still looking for her baby, and the people who took the baby are not caught yet, even though the incident was reported to the police.

Mr. Erege is asking the police to catch these people soon, along with Kelechi’s lawyer, as mentioned in the letter.
