The gunmen, suspected of being members of the Lakurawa terrorist group, have killed at least 13 vigilant members in the Morai village, augie local government area of ​​the state of Kebbi.

The attack took place on Sunday when the assailants broke into the town and tried to whisper cattle.

Acting on intelligence, local guards had gained coverage in nearby bushes and launched an ambush to recover the cattle and repel the attackers.

However, according to a local resident, Alhaji Augie, the guards did not know that they had already been surrounded.

“As soon as the vigilantes moved to Intercept, the attackers opened fire, killing at least 13 of them in the place. The town where the attack occurred is about three kilometers from ours,” Television told Channels.

Until now, six bodies have been recovered and buried according to Islamic rites, while search operations for the remaining bodies continue.

The efforts to get to the Kebbi State Police command for comments were not successful, since the spokesman, Nafiu Abubakar, did not respond to calls or text messages at the time of presenting this report.
