The Minister of Women's Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Gibrahim, has joined other prominent figures to cry the death of Lieutenant General Jeremiah Useni, former Minister of the Territory of the Federal Capital (FCT).
In a statement, the minister was conded with the friends, families and associates of the general general, as well as the governor of the State of Plateau, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang. He regretted that the Nigerians lost the wisdom and orientation of the older statesman.
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Territory of the Federal Capital (FCT), also paid tribute to the General Useni, describing his death as the “fall of one of the largest trees in the Nigerian forest.”
Wike recognized the important role that General Useni played in the development of the FCT during his mandate as a minister between 1993 and 1998.
Orji Uzor Kalu, former state governor and Senator of Abia, who represents the Senatorial District of Abia North, also cried the general general, describing him as a patriotic leader who dedicated his life to the service of Nigeria.
Kalu said that the death of General Useni is a monumental loss for his family, the Nigerian armed forces, the plateau and the nation in general.
