Minimum salary gaffe: the Namadi government approves the reinstatement of suspended assistant

Jigawa's governor, Malam Umar Namadi, approved the restitution of his special salary and pension advisor, Alhaji Bashir Ado Kazaure.

This was revealed in a statement signed by the Secretary of the Government of the State of Jigawa, Malam Bala Ibrahim, and made Tribune Online by the Public Relations officer of the SSG, Mr. Ismaila Ibrahim.

The statement said: “Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi FCA has raised the suspension of his Special Advisor on Salary and Pension, Bashir Ado Kazaure, which had previously imposed himself with immediate effect.”

According to the statement, the decision followed an exhaustive investigation by a committee led by the State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barríster Bello Abdulkadir Fanini.

“The Committee's report approached the circumstances surrounding the suspension of Kazaure, which had been promulgated due to a premature announcement about a proposed minimum wage of N70,000,” said the SSG.

In addition, he explained that the decision to raise the suspension reflects the governor's commitment to equity and due process in such matters.
