A man in Adamawa State has been arrested for killing his close friend and taking his motorcycle and N20,000 cash.
The man is 25-year-old Yahaya Balarabe. He stabbed his friend Usman until he died, according to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje.
Mr. Nguroje said that Balarabe killed Usman and stole his motorcycle and N20,000 on July 17, 2024.
Balarabe comes from Dage Village in Ganye Local Government Area. He went with Usman to his farm to help spray herbicides, Mr. Nguroje said.
The Police spokesperson added that Balarabe attacked Usman with a cutlass, stabbing him in the head and throwing his body in a gutter.
Police caught Balarabe after Usman’s family reported the murder. They found evidence at the crime scene pointing to Balarabe as the main suspect.
Balarabe confessed to the crime and said he wanted Usman’s motorcycle and money.
The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, was sad about the incident. He praised the police in Ganye for solving the crime quickly and ensuring Balarabe could not run away.
