The police in Delta State have arrested a young man, who is 23 years old, for a very sad crime. He hurt and killed his own mother in Obiaruku, Delta State.
The mother, who was in her 50s, told her son, whose name is Samson, to stop smoking early in the morning. She thought it was not a good idea for him to smoke so early.
Samson got very angry when his mom told him this. In his anger, he used a knife to hurt her, which sadly led to her death.
Samson has an older brother who is sick. When he saw what happened, he shouted loudly. His shouts brought people to their home where they found their mother in a very bad state.
A video shared online by a person named Ose showed Samson holding the knife that he used.
Family members said they live on a street called Jehovah Street in Obiaruku. They also shared that Samson had problems after he finished school. He went to Asaba, a bigger city, to learn a job but got into bad habits and used drugs. This hurt his mind and he had to come back home.
His mother tried to help him by taking him to a special place that uses traditional methods to help people who are not well mentally.
A police officer named SP Bright Edafe confirmed that the police have arrested Samson for this very sad incident.
